- STARGATE SIX
“WHITE OUTFIT PARTY”
Its that time of year when local promoters Dj Deano and Judy
Venus bring us their ever developing and inspirational ILLUMINATION
White Outfit Party, held in the rainforest setting at AJ Hackett
Bungy site in Smithfield to celebrate Winter Solstice.
Starting as an underground house party six years ago, ILLUMINATION
is set to carry out thirteen parties in all, taking us to 2012
when according to Mayan beliefs, the raising of earths consciousness
along with the shifting of the ages from Pisces to Aquarius
occurs.
The
dance scene has been directly influenced by tribal and ancient
cultures, so in wearing a unified white outfit, yet individual
in style, we create that sense of unity and ceremony common
among ancient tribes during their rituals, dances and performances.
This unifying of the crowd with their costume and the theming
of the venue gives us the feeling of connectedness to everybody
and everything around us. All of our white outfits create a
3D canvas for the projections and light show, saturating the
event in all areas.
Combining
a formula of electronic music, performances, visuals, installations
and lightshows along with sacred geometry, magic square mandalas
and numerology makes ILLUMINATION one of the most anticipated
events on the local dance calendar. This years number SIX has
been used throughout including the ticket price 6x6= 36, the
6 mirror ball main installation, 6 DJ's on a 6 track shoot out
till 6 with a 6 sided (hexagonal) entrance enhanced with 6 coloured
fluoro string art.
FEATURE
DJ`s
On
the main Stargate dance floor, Sydney producer/DJ Oculus (Floatation
Records) will be playing a live set around midnight including
a bonus track specifically written for this event, again playing
around sunrise with unreleased music from his new album. Local
producer and DJ, Ekogen, will launch his first album at 1am
followed by Spinal Fusion ‘3D Contact’ DJ’s
from Tokyo and a mystery DJ from solstice records.
PERFORMERS
Taking
place across the lake will be an array of performances including
choreographed fire shows, lotus seed dance performance, sword
fights in full armour and african drumming with dancers in traditional
costumes.
BIG
SCREEN VISUALS
The
boys from Synthetic Dimensions, Chedwa and Blake, will again
deliver their fantastic visual display with live VJ-ing incorporating
fresh material sourced from Europe showcasing 3D animated film
exploring the star seed Mer-Ka-Ba.
THE
STARGATE ARENA
The
main installation floating above the dance floor is a Star-Tetrahedron
surrounded by six mirror balls, all interacting with the intelligent
light show. The Star Tetrahedron is a 3D sacred geometric shape
used by earlier civilizations. The star tetrahedron represents
the balance between male and female and reflecting an alchemists
view on the topic of “ as above so below”. If you
would like to know more about this, do a Google search on Mer-Ka-Ba
(Egyptian for light-body-vehicle). Surround sound system and
programmed intelligent lighting will totally immerse you in
colour, sound and light.
THE
LOUNGE BAR
Deep
progressive house, electro and funky beats from the strong local
talent will be played in this stylish and sexy setting of soft
lights and black decor. Here the band ‘ISOMER’ will
be playing a one-hour set starting at midnight.
CHILL
ZONE & HEALING VILLAGE
Neil’s
organics in Sheridan Street will provide complementary light
catering for our pleasure, with coconuts, chai and organic fruit.
The promoters will again provide free filtered water and chuppa
chubbs. Marquees with face painting and fire-drums for warmth
create an ambience for chilling.

June 2005 at AJ Hackett Bungy, Smithfield, Cairns on the road
north from Cairns, turn left at the McGregor Road roundabout
after Smithfield shopping centre and drive straight up to the
car park. Gates will open at 8pm. Music starts at 9pm. The bar
is open till 5am and the party will go onto sunrise and beyond.
Drop
into Shiva Moon, Tastey, Fetish 4 Live or Snoovi who are displaying
their selection of white fashion and accessories for you to
choose from or create your own outfit with material available
at Spotlight.
